Greetings! I am Kimberly " Hot Sauce" Johnson. The nickname was given to me by a sassy 4-year old.
Welcome to my page!
I designated this as my "Blues" page because the blues has influenced every music genre since its inception. Music is in my blood. I appreciate and perform all types of music, but the blues is my business!
I grew up singing in the choir at church every Sunday (I still sing for my church). I have loved singing ever since I could talk. When I was 9, I started taking violin lessons and that opened my heart to other types of music besides disco (I was a 70's baby). From there, I discovered Jazz and then Musical Theatre in high school. I was hooked on performing after that, and have been a performer in every aspect since then.
I never considered the Blues when I was a kid. I couldn't relate to it. I always thought that you had to live a long life and deal with trouble and turmoil around every corner. I had the preconceived notion that blues songs were depressing. I never once considered how alive, soulful and energetic they actually are. Music speaks to the heart and taps into every emotion, and the blues does just that.
Here are some of my musical projects and adventures:
